Seek immediate help from the base shrink.

You are seriously disturbed and starting to concern your fellow AR members!!

D99,

As Moderator, I would be grateful if you did not post such offensive pictures here on the European Forum! Wink

If you are actually tempted to buy one of these, I suggest you follow Ian's advice!!

Pete

I'm afraid I like it a little bit myself.

They must call it "Harvest Moon Camoflauge."

The one directly above looks like something out of a Tim Burton movie, or something that Klaus Kinski would carry in a re-make of "Dawn of the Dead."

Here is another new (to me) option for Blaser guns - breaktops, this time.

The orange rifle isn't completely offensive. Certainly less so than some rifles I have seen finished in "realtree" type stuff.

That other thing is utterly foul.

Have these folks not heard that less is more?

Hunting is getting as close as you can, shooting is getting as far away as possible.

Ran across this older topic looking for something else . . .

Anyway, I'm quite sure the audience aimed at is the drivers, the game beaters, the one's in the line of fire, as you all know a couple got hit last year in Germany, Waidmannsheil, Dom.

P.S. I'm looking for ideas on something like moleskin or a grip to put on an R93 offroad, so if anyone sees this pls respond or PM me, thanks.

Can somebody from the US confirm the following

I was hunting last fall in Canada and we were talking about this particular stock when a Canadian hunter told me that Blaser launched this stock specifically with US hunters in mind.

The legal requirement for "orange" coverage when hunting in the US 100 square inches. This stock will provide that exposure.

The older generation of hunters in the US still resents wearing an orange vest when hunting because it is not fashionable contra to what they have been doing for years. Hence if you carry this rifle you are legally covered.

Is this story correct ?

Dom, there was a place in Switzerland that cut checkering in Offroad stocks. I could possibly find out where...

With regards to add-on/glue-on grip... I have seen skateboard tape suggested. I have no idea how it would work.

Benjamin,

While I'm not an expert on the legalities of Safety Orange requirements for 50 different States (each State has their own Hunting regulations).

I would consider this a "No", you're not covered.

The vast majority of Stateside hunting regulations I've read clearly state that you must "wear" or be attired in a minimum of "100 sq. inches" of Safety Orange.

My perception is similar to Dom's; I consider these stocks are probably marketed for European Drive Hunting.

LH,

RW has a 6.5x284 in Blaze orange , (I think built by PRS) He turned up in Wyoming and asked the same question and was told he still needed to wear the orange vest.

I have a picture of the rifle somewhere , I'll see if I can dig it up.

K

That "Black Model" R93 is definitely a nice looking rifle!! Too bad I'm still on my Blaser Diet, maybe in a couple more years, of course by then, the "Hot Model" will appear and look even better - it will have irresistable body parts! Wherever does it end? Big Grin

I don't have an Offroad, was inquiring for a friend on what anyone has used to limit the 'slip' in the pistol grip area, thanks for the info Mike, that checkering might be a good option, Dom.

Hi Fallow Buck

Welcome back from "dark places"

I saw his orange rifle the only time I hunted with him. What a shocker and kicker too.

Heh Just putting together a new stalking rifle for next season........

What do you think ?

Ben, that looks tasty.

Give us the details: action, barrel, stock calibre etc?

I ordered the rifle from Peter Walker

Its a Stiller Predator action in 6.5 x-284 build for the open class i.e. 10 kilograms

I bought the Front rest from Brian Fox. It is made in Indoesia. Check it out "sebcoax rest"

30 inch barthlein barrel 1 in 8.5 twist

I plan to shoot 140 grain VLD bergers BC 0.585

The stock is a Shahane tracker II stock bedding by Peter himself.

Its a no turn neck

Can wait to try it out in the next few weeks

I want to start competiting F-class so this is my starter rifle.

Dont know what else to say.

According to Peter 03 identical rifles were build at the same time.

One went to Vince Bottomley and it's featured on his website

The second was built for Peter Dixon who shot a 5.5 inch group a few months ago - just missing Vince's UK records with 7mm WSM at diggles !

So if this gun does not shot there are 02 main reasons:

The nut behind the trigger Confused

I can perhaps blame it on the fact that the reamer was blunt by the time it came to be used on my barrel .....HAHAHHA

I'd need to see one in person before I made a judgement but from the photos in the catalog the one with the green camo pattern doesn't look bad at all.

The bigger problem is that it appears Blaser wants about a $400 to $500 premium for the camo finishes versus the plain black Professional models.
