Speaking of tunneling, I've been looking at one of these

Not altogether in the traditional English style granted, but I'd rather explain this at the larder than the neon buttplug thing.... shocker

I must have been asleep during the DSC course

Nobody ever mention anything about tunneling to me. Must be for very advance stalker only............

I fear for our safety this weekend with Ghubert loose on the estate.

Ben,

There is no way you have stalked at LongParish, and did your DSC1 with CH without being shown how to gralloch properly. Wink

Guys,

It looks like Amir has the larder sorted.

For those shooting pigeons on Sunday, shells are available from the estate at normal local prices. For those in the UK that will be bringing shells with them, I would bring a slab of 250 with you to be on the safe side. I'm' not sure whatthe weather is doing, and I'm no way guaranteeing you will shoot them all but mowed cover crops can be some of the most productive shooting especially in hard weather.

Anders, I will bring you some 20g shells (28g of 5's or 6's if that is OK?

I'm off to the airport so will log in again tonight or tomorrow.

Rgds,
K

Hi guys, I've just gotten back from Suffolk and we truly had a blast.

A finer bunch of folk one could not hope to meet.

Most of the boys will still be out there at the moment trying to shoot some pigeons, yesterday was a stalking day though Kiri and Gerry bunked off to take advantage of a hare drive on the estate with 80 Italians spread about the countryside keeping the pigeons going all day.

I need some sleep now but I can safely say there will be some interesting stories forthcoming.... Wink Big Grin

Once again, it was a pleasure and an honour to meet the bunch of lads we had out this week last, good hunting and see you all soon.

REgards,

Amir

Hey guys,

Good to hear that everyone had a good time and got home safely. Final count was 42 deer (Muntjac and Roe). with a couple of half decent bucks shot. I have two in my chiller only one of which I shot!!

We also nearly had a Greek boy and an ex-pat american in the various column on Saturday mng, afer taking a good run at the brandy and port on Friday night!! What should have been a 100 bird pigeon day ended up at about 25 picked and a few lost birds.

Over all a great time had by all and I think we should probably do it again!! Just not the Friday night bit....Wink

I just want to say I enjoy the company very very much and exchanged wonderful views from experience hunters from all around Europe.

I would like to say special thanks to Fallow buck for organising this yearly event.

I am sorry to say my pigeon count is in the single figure - CLASS D shooter .....

Deer hunting was great I shot my quota very qucikly

85 yards
160 yards
280 yards

I made a wrong call on my third deer mistaking a buck for a doe and that was the shortest shot at 85 yards.

I must confess I am not that experience in identification ...hahahaha

Anders I hope you and Mr G got to the airport OK and the Afghani taxi driver did not slip something in your bags If you read this in jail please PM and I will come with bail money and takeaway ............ahahhhaa I did find you that taxi driver after all

KR - Have you recovered from the Marsh walk about?

Gerry - Last I heard from him he was hunting along the M1 looking for Muntjacs siome 24 hours after the hunt had finished ...............Do let us know how you get on please my dear friend

Ghubert - you need a smaller tunnelling machine my friend.

Solvi we have a date next spring on the ice OK ? please PM me

And to everybody else thank you and count me in for the next venue whatever is the quarry.

Fallow buck can we shoot something angry and growling ?

It has been a pleasure and honour to be allowed into this group.

Since everybody will be posting their deer and rifles pcitures;

As usual with all my hunting experiences visiting local historical places is a must for me

So here we are during the break I and KR sneeked out for a walk about in Bury St. Edmunds

Hi guys
Mr. G and myself arrived safely in our little town on 3 o'clock at night. Thanks Ben for giving us a lift. That was very very nice of you! Smiler

Thanks to everyone for great company, and to Kiri for organizing this for us. I had a wonderful time, as always! And I can't wait for the next event.

This is all for now, as I have some work to catch up with, but I hope to be able to post some pictures tomorrow.

In the meantime I'll be sneaking in to see pictures and jokes made of the other participants. Smiler

Some photos of my week..

My fallow doe from Holtye shot at very last light, just as Kiri and Gerry shouted my name in hopes of getting me to leave my stand. Of course I didn't listen to them, and took the shot.. Smiler

At the Whitehorse pub we were treated with giant lunches..

The "castle" at Gt. Livemere. A great place to stay!

I was very fortunate to shoot four muntjacs the very first evening out. That put me on the paying list immideatly..

The biggest buck. Unfortunatly one of it's antlers were broken at the base. The teeth were mostly intact, and it will make a nice scull mount.

After dinner the fluids and jokes made for good atmosphere..

This isn't weather suited for pigeon decoying. Solvi smile nontheless..

A couple of the pigeons I managed to bring down from high above. Honestly I shot only three.. Smiler

Kiri, once again, thanks for organising a blast of a weekend. My first AR get together but I'm sure it won't be my last.

Anders, I know you have a ton more photos. If you can upload them to a public album somewhere and post the link here it would be great. I know I'd love see them. Others probably would as well.

cheers all,

Stu,

You're welcome mate. I liked the idea of an AR shotgunning weekend for a group up there, so as my french friend says "let me know if it fancies your tickle!!"

It was a shame the pigeons didn't play ball as it would have been a great way to round off the weekend but that's hunting. At least Gerry and I scared a few the day before to prove they were about!!

Kiri,

Thank you again for hosting and organizing our 3rd Annual AR Weekend!

It was a super weekend and I really enjoyed it; making new friends and of course; visiting with friends who (too many to name) have attended previously.

Kiri, thanks for the invitation & opportunity to hunt your Ground; the results are the "Did you Shoot from the Seat?" Fallow Doe.

Our efforts after a long-g-g night prior, a few too many squeezes of the grape and looking into the bottom of a whiskey bottle ..... the first load of #6's was a real "brain-rattler".

The muntjac were numerous .....

quote:
Gerry - Last I heard from him he was hunting along the M1 looking for Muntjacs siome 24 hours after the hunt had finished ...............Do let us know how you get on please my dear friend

and Benjamin; yes, I was successful on Monday evening; even after discovering when I looked out the window on Monday morning at 04:30 that there was 4" of new snow, not condusive for hunting Asian Deer - Thanks for asking, Pal. Sadly; his left Canine is broken off about halfway; from scrapping about - these Muntjac are aggressive little beasts.

What a great weekend, can't wait to do it again!

Yes, I've already made a call to Bavaria, spoken on Voice Mail and am awaiting a response - I'll keep you posted.

Cheers,
