brass thiefmuntjac
i have to go to Norfolk for a couple of days next July. i"d like to fit in few couple of days
recreation when i"m there, and i want to try something a bit different. can anyone reccomend a good area or guide for Muntjac? i don"t really know anything about them, as we don"t have them here in Northern Ireland. it"s still along way off, but i"m just investigating. i could always try to get a ticket for Thetford forest, but i don"t even know if it"s any good.
any ideas?
good shooting.

Claret_DabblerBT, rumour has it that you won't have to go as far as Norfolk for Muntjac some of these days.
I hear there are some rather closer to home than that.
Haven't seen any personally but.....

brass thiefhi Claret,
i know for a fact that someone has bought muntjac and brought them here, because i know where he got them! they are penned up at the minute, but i don"t know what his intentions are. there"s a lot of urban myth about "guys in vans buying roe and muntjac across the water", but i could"nt say of anywhere that i know has a population of either species. as you know, we lack the habitat, but i think it"s only a matter of time before we see muntjac.
my .243 and i eagerly await their arrival!
good shooting

Fallow BuckBT,
The problem you will have in July is that the cover and crops are usually so high at that time of year that it will be difficult to spot the deer in some areas.
Usually after the harvest there are some more opportunities at the end of the month and into August.
