Has anyone heard how the stag season went on Arran this year?

Unfortunately, one of the shooters attending actually died (natural causes) while out solo on his beat.

Very unusual as safety and 'buddy' system hunting is integral to the systems run on this hunt.

Shooting was suspended for the three days until the body was located & recovered.

The following week was cancelled.

Not seen any figures for the deer taken or reports from other attending stalkers.

Just heard that Griff (who was central to the event for the last eight years) has decided he will no longer be involved with the scheme.

Not sure as to its future.

Thats terible news. Griff always did a fantastic job on Arran as did Rob. It's a real shame as it was a really good scheme that gave people the chance to stalk reds on the hills for a very cheap price with the chance of shooting a good stag thrown in.
