Fallow BuckSwarovski Rail System
Hi guys,
I'm loking into a scope for the 260Rem project and have found a great deal on AR for a Z6 but with the SR.
I have a 20MOA piccatiny (sp?) rail fitted to the top of the action so from there I'm not sure how the scope attaches to the action. Any experience or opinions?

James JohnstonZ6, nice scope, bit "soft", I prefer S&B.

mhoSorry Fallow, I don't have the answer to your question. Somehow, Picatinnys and rail scopes come from two opposite sides of the world of firearms. I would not be surprised if "rings" for the SR to fit the Picatinny rail were unavailable. But who knows??
If that does not work out, as Wildboar suggested, an EAW or another mount of German origin may be called for. Not cheap, but good quality.
Which Z6 are you looking for??

KM5LASwaro makes a mount for the SR that attaches to a Weaver base. Won't that work on a Picatinny rail? See the link below.

Fallow BuckMHO,
I'm looking at the 1.7-10x42 probably. Although I'm still not ready to discount the 50mm lens yet.
I spoke to Gunrunner and the rail system can be mounted on the gun but the result will be a scope that sits very high on the barrel, so I've decided against it.
I'm going to move the 3-12x50 IR over from my 308 and get a Leupold from the states next monthwhen I'm there to put on the 308 for now. With all the opther things going on round here I can't really justify blowing Z6 money right now.

scubaproThe Swaro SR-rail system is by far the best instalation ofa scope. It´s 100% recoil proof and the strongest design...

KenatiI also found a very good deal on a SR scope. I have never seen a Swarovski Rail scope mounted and I am curious if you can mount it as low as you can on traditional rings. If not, then I don't see the point in the extra ~3 oz of weight, plus and adapter, plus Weaver style bases.
Can somebody shed some light on this for me?
Thanks!

mhoKenati, we discussed the internal rail mounts (Swaro SR, Zeiss etc) a couple of years back in this thread:
