Pete ENew Regulations : Any Impact?
With the new meat hygiene regulations that came into force at the beginning of the year, I was wondering if any of the British members have noticed any impact?
Are your gamedealers insisting on the written declaration to accompany the carcasses?
A couple of the local shoots have now installed chillers of one sort or another and I know of one larder which is being upgraded on the back of these regulations..
I don't deal with with a gamedealers so I don't know on that front, and I've no idea whether the various local authorities are actually enforcing these regulations yet?
Regards,
Pete

trans-pondIn last 6 weeks I have to tag carcasses and sign to cofirm "trained hunter status." The form then says if you can't comply you should leave the pluck so a "vet"!!!? can look at it.

1894mk2I am required to supply a trained hunter number and sign the invoice, carcasses must be tagged.
The regulations mean that in effect shoots should ensure game is chilled within 6 hours of being shot. Installation of chillers is interesting given that pheasants are worth 25pence each at present....
