I went to a gun show the other day and saw this Mateba. I don't seen to be able to find much information on this Italian handgun. Information onit would be welcome.

Steve MalinverniMateba means Macchina Termo Balistica (Thermo Balistic Machine). As shown in the photo the most evident characteristic in the construction is the barrel that works in the lowest chamber of the cylinder. It should help in managing the recoil. The other feature concern the trigger mechanism that, if I remember well, is, in some model, linear. Anyway is a revolver, not too much known, not too much popular (neither in Italy) even if well built and with good materials.
They have a very brief site, look at

Boss KongoniStefano - Gratsi, I think the point I'd be most concerned about is locating parts. I have several accomplished gunsmiths if I needed work.
I do prefer simple equipment revolvers are my hand gun of choice. However, this weapon does fasinate me. It does seem very well made. I'm not sure about it's rating to handle high pressure rounds, which would be some thing I would use.

Steve MalinverniHonestly I never seen one, neither at the range, but all the articles on Italian gun magazines were positive. I cannot give any personal opinion.
