JMV375Recommendations for Red Stag hunt in Europe
Strongly considering red stag hunt in Europe.
Looking for advice and recommendations for outfitters who have good reviews.
This would be a family hunt/vacation.
Any info is appreciated.

CaracalHi Joe,
I do hunt Romania and Hungary for free range red stag. It depends a bit on what accomodation, size of stag and other animals as add on you want.
Combination with free range fallow buck, wild boar, mouflon, wild boar, chamois is possible, depending on country and season.
You should look at mid to late September. The stags will be roaring then and it is quite spectacular.
If you are interested send me a PM and I'll get you in touch with US-hunters who hunted with me this year.
Here are a few free range stags and bucks we took in September. I have plenty more I can email you.

Fallow BuckHey Joe,
Portugal has some excellent stag stalking at great value and offers some excellent trophies. At the big end of the size scale it's value is hard to beat.
We can also offer Romania and Scotland with the former being the better choice for larger trophy sizes.
PM me if you want more information.

K

10generationI've been interested in doing this for some time and had a good conversation with fallow buck at DSC about putting together a trip to Portugal to go after stag.

mouse93All good suggestions - just my 2c:
1. By all means come in rut time.
2. There are many EU red stag destinations and those are all different - take in account and plan ahead and enjoy the hunt with country's traditions.
3. Don't just do one destination for the sake of the trophy - do them more, do them all. Scotland Heights, Danube Region flats, Austrian/Slovenian Alps, Germany's North, Romania, Poland....Great hunting, for Great Game in Great Countries
