Re: What chambering to choose for a Blaser K-95
Aleko,

It's not offered in Europe either. I saw that the 6.5x68R was available in 26" and thought that since they could produce a longer barrel in 6.5mm I might be able to do so with 6.5x57R. I was right but it was not cheap (about $150US per extra inch) The calibre patently does not need it but I have sensitive ears and wanted the muzzle blast further away, it also helps with the balance a little.

Seeing as the do a 26" 7mmRM the same is no doubt possible with a 7x57R or 7x65R

Picture sent.

I'll be the odd man out here, I'd go for a shorter barrel than the standard - probably a 22". I like short rifles, they make life a bunch easier when you get in and out of cars, high seats etc. Always a different opinion from somebody on AR .

My peronal caliber choice, probably a .270 Win or if it absolutely had to be rimmed a 6.5x57R

Henrik,

Having shot both a 60cm and 65cm 6.5x57R, I can tell you that the the 60cm offered very little less MV and seemed a tiny bit more accurate. The balance was slightly improved with the extra length but then I am used to 9lb bolt guns.

Were I to order again I would not bother with the extra expense or hassle. In 5.6x50R it would be pointless IMHO.
