Hi guys,
yesterday a friend show me an old rifle that I never see. It was a Christoph Funk from Suhl. The action is a Mauser 98, caliber 6,5x68, barrel lengh 27 1/2", with Zeiss 4x scope. This gun is about 30-35 years old and is in moderate conditions. In this moment I don't have pics.
Anybody have an idea from the value of this gun???

The rifle must be much older because the gunmaker c. Funk didn´t exist after WW II!
I don`t know the value, but if the rifle is in good shape.. Must be build in the late 30th or early 40th!

$500-2500 tops. Depends on condition.

Custom Mausers built in Central Europe 30 years ago are not really something a lot of people specialize in.

I take a look on the web and see that this rifle was made in the 30th, it's older then I was thinking. In this case the value must be higher.
The conditions are moderate good, everything works good, only blue and stock are not perfect (80%).
Probably I can buy this for 200-300 EU!!! I think it's a good business.

Older should mean a higher value!

I'll let you know the dates next year but we ought to do a elk hunt in 2009.

Yes, for that price I would buy it right away. You can either restore it as a collector's piece or load up some KJG copper bullets and use it for long range work.
