Oh?
We're allowed to talk about performances on the range are we?
Excellent.....
Gerry, how many half quarter centimetres to the half centimetre?
TP, Why do you shoot better when another man is literally holding your hand?

Gerry you need to spent some more time at the range, after your last gut shot deer
TP, it's all a matter of placement ..... squint, then close both eyes as you stroke the trigger - works every time!

That's why it's called Long-Range Shooting. Dial the elevation all the way to the stops and down four .... guaranteed Minute-of-Burm ..... I mean, Hell the bullet coulda landed close to Heathrow.

Small BoreI'm toying with the idea of joining you all again. Not for the quality of the company you understand.
It is just that having sold the 6.5x57 Proctor, I have replaced it with a 6.5x54 Mannlicher Shoenauer which does not work (needs a new stock and won't chamber a round) and a ..... TT Proctot 'Imperial' 7x57. This is my third Proctor. Maybe I'll actually keep this one.
Anyway, now I have a rifle again, maybe I should see if it works.
21 December 2010, 02:17
GhubertI'm not sure what the net effect of all those words actually are...
Are you complaining about something again?
21 December 2010, 19:14
solviWell guys, I will probably not be attending the AR meeting in February, I am having a surgery on my right shoulder late January. If anything chances, I got a valid firearms permit, but I don’t think I will be attending.

Trapper DaveSolvi,
Sorry to hear that.
Hope the surgery goes well and you make a full recovery.
A few glasses of Brennevin should numb the pain ;o)

Interested in what that 6.5x57 achieved. Out of interest what's the 'Imperial' model?

Perhaps he made a "mint" with it? ;o)

The Canuks made their own version; of many cartridges; primarily improved and in many cases (a pun) a touch longer brass, sorta "Ackley Improved" - the performance was/is outstanding; sadly the marketing didn't catch on globally.

24 December 2010, 00:56

Fallow BuckHI Guys,
Can we have a final round up of those coming to Livermere this year please. I have only got Visitors stuff from Stu so far and we are pretty much out of time if I don't get them this week.
I think Gerry +1 are still pending (get it in the post big guy!!) And I don;t think we have any more from the continent?
Brian is Nigel joining us?
Rgds,
K

Small BoreI think the Imperial is just a nice name he gave to more fancy finished rifles.
The 6.5x57 made £1,500. I paid £1,000 for the 7x57. It has a 6x42 Swaro on it.

Claret_DabblerKiri, don't think Nigel will make it, work commitments etc.
Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....
03 January 2011, 19:27
calgarychef1I had expressed interest but we're just arriving on the fifth of Jan that doesn't leave enough time to get our lives sorted. So the short answer is I'm out...for now.
have fun!

Glad my paperwork is there. Yes, I'll be at Livermere and at Sussex for the couple of days beforehand.
I'm arriving at Gatwick on Wednesday 9 Feb.
Looking forward to it.
cheers,
stu

Fallow BuckStu,
Are you booking the white horse? If so then do it sooner rather than later as they are getting a bunch of film crew in so availability can be tight.
Brian, are you in Sussex too?
We were in Suffolk today shooting hares and woodcock. We would have had heaps but Dig is such a useless woodcock shot... 4 for 4 the jammy sod!! There is a heap of deer about too you will all be glad to hear. Shame Nigel can't make it, he is good company.
Rgds,
Kiri

Stu CHi Kiri,
I just called Angie. She's got me booked for two nights 9/Feb and 10/Feb. £40 / night.
I'm all set.

Fallow BuckGood stuff mate.
I thikn Gerry and Tom are staying the same dates as you.
K
05 January 2011, 19:39
Claret_DabblerKiri, I am struggling a bit with dates etc.
I won't make it down to Sussex, but should be good to go directly to Livermere on Friday lunchtime.
Remember and pack my 260 ammo, don't want to be throwing stones at the deer....

GerryTom & I will be arriving (hopefully, if all goes well) on Thursday morning 10/02/11 @ 10:30 at the White Horse.
Tried to call Angie the past coupla days but no one's picking up the phone in the mornings. I'll continue to try.
Brian,
We ought to arrive at Great Livermere @ same time as you on Friday; 12:00 - 13:00.
Regards to Nigel, it was a pleasure meeting him, too bad he'll not be able to join us.

A Physical Anomoly - never tried a stock that was fitted to someone w/no neck. Good thing you took your Tack Driver away from me; if you'd have given me a couple more minutes with it I'da figured out how to bend that exquisite stock to make it work for me.

Of course; we had a "blast" at Bisley - Cool Place.
Thank you again for the VERY enjoyable company and coupla liquid refreshments following a great (but quite cold) Day at the Range.
Looking forward to seeing you all again in Febuary. I've already given Tommy everyone's Idividual Profile - so you'll have to continue to live up to your reputations .....

NevadanGerry,
Is the Tom you'll have with you Winkelman??
I'll be thinking about you and the ARhunt while I am teaching in Tokyo. Maybe next year I can join in the fun from this side of the big pond if we go back to the Fatherland like last year.
None the less, have fun and shoot straight.

GerryDon,
Yup, the Winkelmeister will be joining us this year - Rose'll comb his hair and brush his teeth before he leaves The Fatherland ..... he ought to be controlable on a short leash & Shock Collar.

Sure would be nice if you could be along, too!

Cheers,

DomGerry, this combing of hair and brushing of teeth would make Winkey a Pinkey

Check out INNOTEK, works pretty good
Enjoy your AR trip, one of these years I hope to make it, Waidmannsheil, Dom.
