Fallow BuckThe 4th AR European Hunt 2011
Hi All,
I've just finalised the details for the AR hunt for 2011.
Location will be Livermere Hall again as last year. The good news is that Athina Hunting tours has been asked to reduce the number of Muntjac does on the ground there this year so we have agreed for the AR weekend that each gun can take up to 3 Does per session and if the odd immature buck (ie; showing no ivory) is shot there will not be an additional charge.
Details are as follows
The weekend of 11th to 13th Feb 2011 and the cost for the whole weekend will be £450 to include the following:
1. 3 Outings In A High Seat, (Friday Evening & Saturday Mng & Evening)
2· Full Board Accomodation including Bed Breakfast and Dinner. Rooms will be shared probably between 2-3.
3· Some Snacks Through The Day At Shooting Lodge
4· Drinks, Including Beer, Wine And Soft Drinks (You all know the form by now!! )
5· A rifle Range May be set up
6· Trophy Fees for all Mubntjac Does.
7. Three Muntjac Does Per Hunter per outing. The does not shot on one outing may not be carried forward though
The price does NOT include:
1· Hotel Accommodation for Thursday Night
2· Transfers From Home/Airport To The Lodge And Back
3· Rifle Import Permits, (Additional £35)
4· Rifle & Ammunition To Be Supplied By Each Individual
5· Trophy Fees For Muntjac Bucks Or Roe Does £85 Flat Fee
6· Venison To Be Taken Home , (May Be Bought From The Estate)
7. Cartridges for pigeoon Shooting may be bought from the estates gun shop.
8· Anything Else That Isn't Included That I Forgot To Add Here!!!
Pigeon Shooting will be available on the Sunday at £100 per gun fully catered by the estate with hides/magnets etc. I suggest we wait and see how he weather looks on the day and then make a decision.
A couple of days earlier fallow stalking in Sussex will be available too again for those that are interested. We will be £80/outing from double high seats again as per last year. Space will be limited on this one though. Accomodation will be at the white horse inn down the road from the shoot which will be about £40/night maybe less.
Rgds,
Kiri

AndersI didn't have any fun last year!

Just kiddin'! It's a blast, and I'm 99 % sure I'm coming over. Just need to check my schedule.

Arild IversenWould love to, but are saving funds for Namibia in April next year. Doubt if I can manage both...
Might be able to take up the offer on fallows on Kiris lease in Sussex and the White Horse Inn though.

Fallow BuckWhat's the meat damage like on a muntie from your 12bore double rifle?
I suppose we can call it "testing"!!

Fallow BuckGents,
Of the guys that came over last year, will your visitors permits still be valid?

I rather think "Hungry like the wolf" was the precise phrase we used Arlid

You may indeed have to take one for the team....

There was no missing that one ..... she definately took a fancy to Arild.
Like Amir my recollection is sorta similar to a Wolf appraising the Lambs .....

Fallow BuckI was there yesterday with Achmir and I mentioned that some of the guys were coming back in November...
Arild I think you pillows might get puffed...

02 October 2010, 21:49
GhubertI think Kiri, you mean "fluffed" or "plumped".
"Puffed" might unduly concern our Norwegian friend....

Dressed in Cook's Whites - you may mistake the "Pillow" for what it actually is ..... an entire bed .....

GhubertIt would be difficult to mistake the chef for a pillow, puffed (god knows what a puffed pillow is - on with teeth marks?) or not.

Arild IversenMy friends.
I have been away sailing since Saturday with no internet connection and just came home today.
I´m deeply touched by your concern for this old fella

I had to look up "puffed" in my Oxford Dictionary.
It says : Breathing quickly and with difficulty by a lot of physical exercice!
(In regard of the Lady of the Inn, she might very well make both the pillows and me puffed

)
About the "coo-ing" noises Amir mention, I´m familiar with those by the way

Anyway, a frightfull scenario; me puffing and the lady coo-ing.....
I really hope I will be able to come (to Sussex I mean)
Arild Iversen.

Arlid, you're a good man for doing this buddy.
I'd say lie back and think of the Fjords but I'd imagine that crinkly edges would be the last thing you'd want to re-picture.
Kiri will be endlessly grateful, he had to fake hypoglycemic shock the last time the moon was in the right phase.....

Stu CHi Kiri
How's this all coming along? Everything on track?
Please let us know when you need our docs and anything else.
Any chance we can get a roll call of all those confirmed?
cheers,
stu

Fallow BuckHey Stu,
It has all been a bit hectic my side so I apologise for my lack of updates.
Dig and I were up at the estates earlier this month shooting partridges and Peter again commented to me at the amount of deer they want rolled over this year as they are making a big dent in the pheasant feed. We will do our best to oblige I am sure.
It is time to start collecting the docs for the visitors permits for all those coming from abroad. If I could ask for everyone that requires a Firearm cert to PM me then I will send over a list of everything you need to send me.
Could I also ask Pete to make this a sticky now until the hunt concludes so that we can keep easier track of details.
I think we are currently the following people:
Kiri
StuC
Solvi
Gerry
Claret Dabbler
Bill Pink
Arild, (In Sussex only)
Trapper Dave
Anders ?
Mr G ?
Vegard was also looking into his schedule and a couple of other people I know were also looking at the availability of time.
Rgds,
K

NortonDoes one need to be from Europe to be invited?

Sounds like a jolly good time.
08 December 2010, 04:22
Fallow BuckNorton,
Not at all. We have had members from all over join the hunt each year.
I'm out on the estate tomorrow armed with my new HD camcorder so I'm hoping to get some footage I can post.

Fallow BuckHey guys,
We went out yesterday. I saw about 8-10 munties, three of which were bucks. Ghubert saw a dozen too and one of the other clients saw 5 that went under the seat and lost count of what he saw in the woods!!
Top Predator saw a couple of roe but managed to evade the Munties so I'm not sure how that happened???
Either way it looks like we are on for a serious bit of shooting in Feb again.
Rgds,
Kiri

Hook up with KimR on the US forum as he's come over a few times. Gerry is a Sherman too but he's one of us really!
See if you can't get that man Whitworth to come along as well, I'm hoping to bring my Texan buddy along this year and the more I think of it the better the idea of a colonies vs. mother England Muntjac shooting sweepstake seems attractive....

13 December 2010, 19:10
NortonWell, I followed the reports from prior hunts and it looks like a great time.....and I love the "Mother England" v. the "Colonies" idea.....carried over into the evening drinking festivities as well.

Not sure I can make 2011....but I'll put 2012 on the calender.....thanks for welcoming us Yanks to a hunt on the old sod.

Tommy Winkel is coming with me - a Culler of the Cruelest sort. We're already attemting to figure out how we're gonna get his UK Firearms Permit to show a 300 Remington Ultra Magnum as a Powder-Puff .308 Winchester for taking Muntjac.

Norton,
Hey, Pal; if they'll let me shoot (w/loaded firearms, too!) with them - then you've not got a problem.
Our standards are so high - that if you've got the weekend rate cash in your pocket - you're In!
Get w/Dr. Kim, the Cajun Gas-Passer and he'll tell you how this hunt can be done it a turn-around time that will make the CIA blush. I've never seen anyone who can arrive & disappear so quickly. The print was still wet on his rifle case baggage claim ticket when we gave it back for the return trip.
Net, plan on staying past lunch the first day - it's a good time!
