Home reloading set ups
I was going to put a couple of pictures of my loading bench on a topic, but was knocked into a topped hat when I saw what this guy from the states has to play with.

PG,

In your dreams mate! Razzer

I would settle for a 100m zeroing range somewhere near the house... Roll Eyes

Pete

I've seen this before, it's pretty impressive.

Pete, I have my own 100m range here. I live in a house I built on the family farm. I have a bench rest built from old red brick behind the barns shooting across a paddock which is conveniently 100m. There is a high clay bank as a backstop. It very handy.

My parents get a bit pissed off when my pals turn up for a load testing or zeroing session. 100 rounds of various centrefires going off near your back door will do that.

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....

Brian,

I can understand the issue about the noise..I had a friend who used to open his patio doors and shoot his .270 off his dinning room table! His wife was not impressed at all!

In my case what really hacks me off is that I have permission to shoot on the farm land around my house, but there just isn't anywhere with a substantial backstop, plus its a bit close to other houses in the village...you can get away with a shot or two at charlie with the .223, but I wouldn't like to try zeroing or doing load development with the .308 though...

Regards,

Pete

A T8 and a silage bale.

The black bale is a great back stop. There is one place at home where I can shoot about 260m into a bale back stop, but my old man gets really pissed when I start punching holes in his silage. Most unreasonable of the old git...

I 've often wondered whether a black bale would reliabily stop a .308win round, but have always been too wary to find out...plus as Brian says it would tend to piss off the farmer!
