Adam.270Estonia boar hunt update
The account has been opened with one nice boar on the floor whilst checking out the various stands and towers. Now enjoying a post-prandial beer and cigar, whilst girding our loins for tomorrow's driven hunting. All a bit giddy as everyone wants to be the one that shoots a lynx or wolf (or in Kiri's case, a raccoon dog, because he wants a new hat that's camper than Small Bore's zebra skin trilby

).
Lots of boar seen, so hopes for tomorrow are high and it promises to be a good trip - plus beer is €2 a pint, so what's not to like about Estonia...

Fallow BuckI thought I had died and gone to hunting heaven!! An enclosed blind that had a sofa in it and a double glazing window!!!
All topped of with a big woollen blanket for the less rugged hunters!!
Half hour into the evening there were boar all over. Also reports that wolves have been seen tonight.
I definitely need a new hat and raccoon dog it must be... A Eur1500 lynx for a hat might be a bit too gratuitous for me. I might stretch to a wolf though if the chance arises.

Fallow BuckSteve, We were all wimps compared to the mad Kuwaiti who was outside in a tee shirt!!
It was great fun and I am looking forward to the next one. All the guys got at least one boar except one who was just unlucky, but that's hunting.
We are going back in September for the community moose hunt which seem to be what all the locals get excited about.

I saw the ideal camo jacket the other day for those weather conditions..... it was electrically heated and powered by a small rechargeable battery that went into one of the pockets..... I think it lasts about 6 hours on full power and cost was about E300.
