I don't have a rifle in any of these calibers right now, and I don't live in Europe anymore. But I do like the 9.3x64, 9.3x74R, 45 Blaser, and 9.3x62. At one time I have owned rifles in all of these calibers.

It is really too bad the 9.3x64 and 45 Blaser are not available in more rifles. The 45 Blaser may be a German answer for a driven pig slayer, but it is really too bad more folks don't build rifles for it.

Im a big fan of 9,3x62. Use it on Moose, Red deer, Pigs, and Roe deer.

I have a .338-06. Ballistically, it is similar to the 8x64S, only the bullet heads are easier to come by in the UK.

When the paperwork/licence variation comes through, I hope to add a 9.3x64 Brenneke.

Why not the 9,3x70 to build on, ask Harals Wolf about his ecperiences of that rifle and a fine cartridge made by DWM that not many used . Perhaps it was to powerful , i dont know, but with Woodleigh and swift 300 grain bullets its a sledge hammer .

Over here its 9,3x62 and 9,3x74R, some 9,3x64, which im dreaming about in a M98 i have laying around .

But for the dog handler on moose tracking , the 9,3x57 is a very fine choice since it has very good velocity and energy for short to medium ranges.

Harald Wolf made his own K98 in 9,3x57 for wild boar hunting . looks like a prettier millitary model , and it looks great .

45 Blaser is a rare duck, its trouble is it brass and that it strectches much after firing, better off with a 458 win Mag loaded down .

8,5x63 is similar to the 338-06 AI in efficviency aas i know of it .

But since norma has started to load the 8x68S , its getting a new breath of life with cases easily accessible for delivery .

I went with "Something else . . . ", although I love all of the listed options. The 9.3x70, especially, is one I've always been interested in.

The other cartridge that I've lusted after is the 9.5x66 SE Vom Hofe. I've wanted a rifle in this chambering for a long time but it's definitely a reloaders-type project.

I would be pretty sure that in the 8mm and up category in Europe, 9.3x62 and 74R would account for 90% plus of the market.

Morning Ben. The Blaser is great, have to say I am very pleased. This is it with the 20.5" 30/06 barrel. I have been doing a bit of load development this past few nights. I have found a very accurate load with 56gr Reloder 17 and a 165gr bullet. I will probably use this on everything for the next while.

Planning at least one trip to Germany in November, beyond that, I don't know yet, but I would like to get a second pig trip this year if work allows it.

Great looking rifle and I bet it shoots very straight as well.

I am sure we will cross path in the coming season. Keep me informed of anything interesting.
