Farmer JohnEnd of moose season!
Today we shot the last moose for this season. My nephew shot a young cow with his 375H/H . Last day is on saturday so we had to have it on this last hunt ! We have less moose here now that earlier 2001-2006. Have found some dead bulls this fall(autum) and winter. Some bulls get bad hurt during rut and dies. It is not so unusual . Today we have some contact with red deers but we did not get em out with the young dog we have, they just run around in forest.Todays harvest a moose cow and a fox.

...and I have always been told that Scandinavians mainly use the 6.5x55 for moose hunting

P.S. Oops! I forgot to congratulate your nephew....

GerryMatts,
Waidmannsheil to your Nephew.
Good choice that .375lr, I like it - especially with the 300 gr. Hornady RN's.
I know what you mean about the camera. If I depart the house with a Rifle, my License (I could do without it but alot of others consider it VERY important), the correct amount of the right caliber ammunitionj & my binos it's probably gonna be a good day. I can freeze, leave my ear protection and forget one mislayed glove plus a number of other Boo-Boo's at O'Dark-Thirty but without those three items - you're lost - the Camera is a Bonus!

Steffen.375H&H

congrats on your nephews moose.
too bad to hear that the population decreases, i guess you hunt in the southern parts of Sweden since you mentioned red deer.
i haven't had the opurtunity to hunt moose yet, but here the population only goes up.

wildboarI fortunately got into the habit of always bringing a small camera (now a digital one) with me when I go hunting; that habit allows me to have a good amount of nice, priceless photos, now.
