What do you think?
I finished this euro mount muntjac this weekend. It was one of the muntjacs I shot on the AR hunt last time around. My hope is to improve on this one in March Smiler

Anders,

Very Nice!

If it had two horns antlers you could hang 2 jackets instead of 1 or one jacket & 1 hat ......

Very cool Anders, I like the cross between the traditional Euro mount and what appears to be a Scandinavian light fitting! hilbily sofa

Ignore the nasty comments by the Munchen-Muntjac-Misser, that's a fine trophy when it comes round to telling the story of how you got it. tu2

I'm not shooting unless it got two horns next time Gerry! Cool

Looking forward to sing along, Amir! Norwegians got a great taste for music. Our song this year is of similar quality. 0 points this time as well, I hope Big Grin

It sure is Mike. Wink

I've had several friends who tought I'd made a lamp with IKEA ideas. Strange. I can't understand why Smiler

Reminds me of a guy I went to school with; lost his left nut in an accident when he was 8 or 9 years old. Known from thence-forward as "Aidy-one-ball"...

Hey man that song is a legend, I saw it in the film "the thing" and asked a few mates what it was called and so on. turns out to be a pretty much perfect drinking song, I'll teach you the terraces interpretation of the "Samiid Aednan" bit if you explain to me what the "Lo ye le-lo-lo" bit is about, ok? Big Grin

I didn't say it was an Ikea lamp, I just noted the instinctive Scandinavian design influences, which may I just say work very well with the general decor of the room, inherent in the modern update of the traditional European Skull mount.

Good nickname, guys! It definetly could have been worse.

I'll be the interpreter, Amir. But if I'm supposed to see difference between one and two-horned muntjacs I can't drink tooooo much Smiler

Btw, it was Brian who brought up the IKEA thing, not you this time. Smiler

Anders I know you were very keen to get a Muntjac Buck and I know how tricky they are to find clear of cover however......

It may have been better to wait for it to clear cover rather than shooting the only bit of him you could see (The Left Antler) to stun it before diving out of the highseat knife between your teeth to deliver the Coup de grâce. Big Grin

Well that was the way Amir told it. Wink

Questions from the clueless: do muntjac shed (and regrow) their antlers like other deer species?? And if they do, do the new antlers grow under a cover of skin (velvet), which is rubbed off when antler growth is complete??

If they do, then muntjac have antlers (i.e. bone growth) as opposed to "horns" - although it is common to see this - slightly incorrect - designation used for antlers...
