wildboarWOW!!

What about meat? Do Slovenians eat it?

mouse93thanks guys - no not me - yes it is a magnificient animal by our standards as well - boar 18-20 years old in his peak and yes we eat them - salami or goulash

P.S. Bear grease is a good lubricant for shoes - tho you should see the dog thats not used to bears, come to sniff at the shoes that are lubricated with bear grease

Ours only starts August 20 but this is what we got in 2006:
Nope, it's not me that got lucky then, maybe this year. About 220-230kg, male, shot with a Marlin .44-70 at about 30 yards. He emptied all 4 shots and had an "interesting" 10-15 seconds feeding four new cartridges into the Marlin while watching the bear in front of him. Luckily one of the shots was a perfect hit to the heart so all ended fine. You may vaguely see on the third picture that it had a radio collar.

In our case the dogs drove him out of rest without direct contact, they where about a miute after the bear.

Not only a nice bear, a very nice dog, too! Is it right - it is not your dog? (I think, that you own a BGS, that is a HS!)
