Info: Burg Waechter rifle safes?
I am looking at buying a new gun safe.

I found this maker /brand, which is new to me. They seem good quality: 3mm thick walls, two skin door, 60mm thick, four door locking pins like a bank safe vault.

The security rating is given as Level A and tested to standard VDMA 24992, 5/95. The advert says these safes incorporate, or are made to, German technology. Going by the name, I am guessing they are either Flemish/Belgian, German, German Swiss or, possibly, Swedish.

Does anyone have information on this make of safe? Are they good quality?

Thanks.

Rob,

I can't say I've ever heard of them, but I am in the same position as you needing a new safe..Do you have a link for where these are being sold?

Regards,

Peter

If you 'google' relisafe, or just Burton tenax rifle safes, companies which sell these, and Bratton Sound etc, will come up. It is one of my fortuitious web discoveries.

I found them while looking at Burton Safes. The 'killer' with Burton safes is the delivery and installation costs.

The cheapest installation cost I found for my circumstances was £150+15% sales tax. And that was during the week, which means time off work. Weekend delivery is very expensive! So much so, it is a none starter.

The Burton Tenax safes do have 4mm thich steel walls / body and a double skin door, alos 4mm thick steel plate. The larger size weighs in at 120Kg, so you will need assitance.

The 7 weapon Burg-Waechter has 3mm thick walls and weighs 76Kg. This is more managable for 'amateurs' to move and I think, probably enough for my storage / secuity requirements.
