MOA TACTICALGerman Language Variety shows?
Wife became friends with some gal who is the wife of a German diplomat.
The lady is upset that Australian TV, doesn't include any Variety type shows. Australian TV meaning American and British TV as there is damn little Australian original programming.
Anyway my wife wants to order some German Variety shows to give the lady.
Anyone have any ideas on some good ones that would be available on DVD?
I remember them from my time living in Europe, but couldn't remember the name of one if you held a sharp knife to my neck.
Isn't that what the various TV channels I-Player web sites are for?

MOA TACTICALI guess you don't give gifts in Britain?
That and this is Australia, where TV is mostly 3 year old American and English TV on a limited scale.

You have the internet in Australia don't you?
All the TV channels now have I-player provision for their TV programmes. Which allows you to watch and re watch their programming for up to 7 days after broadcasts via the internet. Just plumb your laptop into your large screen TV and vouloir!

MOA TACTICALJools,
The wife is trying to give her some DVDs as a gift.
Besides I don't even know what the shows are called. She would ask the lady but she wants to surprise her.
I had gathered that was the idea. Given the type of program sort and the way the TV idustry has moved over the last 5-7 years no one is producing this type of DVD any more.
Everything has shifted to either the immediate post broadcast I player format or to the You Tube channel type viewing.
Its fast, its cheap and its immediate. What more could a TV production company ask for. They can also continue with their advertising income stream.
You're looking for something that just isn't there any more.
