SDSpinkTravel With Guns and their outstanding service
On August 3, 2017, three of us were scheduled to fly from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Cluj-Napoca, Romania, with connecting flights in Chicago (O’Hare) and Munich. Our flight out of Sioux Falls was delayed four times as storms ravaged O’Hare reportedly closing the airport down for more than an hour.
An hour and a half late, we finally were airborne with a slight hope of still making our connecting flight to Munich. But that hope was savagely destroyed when our pilot announced that new storms had “popped out of nowhere” and O’Hare was again closed. He then informed us that we would be diverting to Milwaukee due to fuel issues. Just a few minutes later a second announcement from the pilot informed us that our landing location would now be Madison, WI, since Milwaukee was “full”. This sealed our fate as we would miss our trans-Atlantic flight to Germany.
Madison has a small regional airport that could not assist us with booking new flights. With nothing to lose, we called “Travel With Guns”, from whom we had purchased our airfare, and left a message since it was long after business hours.
Fifteen minutes later, we had a phone call from TWG as they worked to find a flight option for us. By the time we were heading to Chicago a full two hours later, they had texted and called many times trying their best to assist us.
There was a Lufthansa flight leaving for Munich within thirty minutes of our landing at O’Hare. TWG added our names to their waitlist and explained the entire process that we would need to do in order to get on that flight. It even included the specific gate that we needed to get to. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to complete the process before Lufthansa closed the flight.
TWG then gave us directions on how to proceed to get on the next available flight. They even gave us three options that we should try at the United Service Desk.
Again, luck was not with us as the only thing United could do was get us on the Lufthansa flight the next night. This would give us a long layover in Munich of nine hours. TWG went to work again giving us options for hotels and rest (if we desired) near the Munich Airport. We even played around with going into the city for a few hours to burn some time. Without us even asking, TWG sent us the train information and schedule for such an excursion.
In a day where “service” is often a word and not an activity, I wish to complement and thank TWG for everything they did. The company went above and beyond what most people would expect. I know there are other excellent companies that contribute to “Accurate Reloading”, but TWG will have all my future business.

Brandon.GleasonThis is excellent to hear. Leaving for SA in a few weeks and booked through TWG. They've been great to deal with so far, and glad to hear they are all hands on deck if something does go awry.
Here's to hoping I don't have to use them beyond the booking!
