Good news about the Swiss nation's maturity towards hunting.
I have just revieved this notification from CIC.

quote:

Switzerland: Voters say yes to hunting

In Switzerland, one of the few direct democracies in the world, voters have repeatedly shown approval of hunting with a two-thirds majority at the polls. Recently, a referendum against drive hunting held in the Swiss canton of Aargau was rejected by 103,000 votes against 50,000.

George P. Aman, president of the Swiss delegation of CIC, is proud of the Swiss citizens positive attitude toward hunting. These results show that hunting enjoys strong support amongst the population of Switzerland. About two thirds of the Swiss people accept hunting with a benevolent indifference. They trust government regulations although the approximately 30,000 huntsmen in Switzerland represent a negligibly small minority. The share of militant opponents to hunting is probably no more than about 10% to 15% of the total population.

Thought I would share such good news about overwhelming support for hunting in a real first world nation to give us some hope for the fight against anti-hunting movements.

In good hunting.

After a few years of participation on forums, I have learned that:

One can cure:

Lack of knowledge – by instruction. Lack of skills – by practice. Lack of experience – by time doing it.

One cannot cure:

Stupidity – nothing helps! Anti hunting sentiments – nothing helps! Put-‘n-Take Outfitters – money rules!

My very long ago ancestors needed and loved to eat meat. Today I still hunt!

More militant opponents than hunters in Switzerland? 1/3 voted against drive hunt is it a improvement?
