Raccoon at 446 yards
This is my backyard

This the feeder 446 yards away at 30X zoom

This is the very young raccoon that was eating corn under the feeder. He caught a 36 grain varmint grenade from my Savage 22.250AI.

That had to hurt.

No such thing as over kill on varmints.

Any rabies in your coon populations?
It comes and goes here. We partner with canada to do bait drops with an oral vaccine, on the border area. Had a round of fox rabies a dozen years ago, the foxes have rebounded since then. Coons and skunk variety seems more common for us.

I've only lived here since September of 2022 but I haven't heard of any instances of rabies at all.
