Winchester M-70 "Heavy Varmint" in .243
I'm a newbie to the varmint/target world, anyone on the forum shooting one of these?? Have a Simmons 6-24X on top, yet to put a round downrange, any info much appreciated..41

This would be the Black Marksman style stocked model with the stainless bull barrel??

A good trigger job, bed the bedding block, and touch up the usually beadblasted muzzle crown and you should have a pretty good shooter.

Du/ND you sound like a gunsmith, have some experience with this M-70? Sharpsman, yes its the old-style "heavy varmint" with the 26" stainless bbl. and the black composite stock not the newer all black Stealth II
