GeedubyaOutfoxed
I took this grey fox a couple of months ago at one of my stands. This particular stand is about 220 yds from the feeder. I went out that evening hoping to get the opportuntiy to take a hog at the feeder. I also took along a quiver critter decoy and a baby cottontail distress call. Figured I'd set the decoy up about 25 yds from the stand and call on an off while waiting for hogs to come in. It was about thirty minutes before dark and I had been calling for about 15 minutes when this really nice fox came in. Nailed him with my Cooper 22 hornet at about 25 yds. He's nice enough that I am having an full body mount done.

Be sure and post a pix once you get the fox back from the taxidermist.

308SakoOnce you use a Cooper in the field, let alone a Cooper Hornet you are hooked. Well done, nice doggie.

Geedubya308,
I've had two other 22 hornets, a browning low wall and a ruger 77. Sold them both after I shot the cooper. Here's a pix of the factory test target.

butchlocinteresting thing about gray fox - if you look at the coloration of a fox squirrel and the fox you will see that they are almost identical - right down to the black stripe on the back. i noticed it first when i had a gray fox mounted carrying a fox squirrel.
