fishhookLooking for 300 Rum loads for 130 grn. bullets
I recently loaded some 150's in nos. B.T. in my 300 RUM and hit a coyote sideways, Not to make it a habit but I'd like to load some 130's and try them over my graph I was going to start with 96 grns. of IMR 4831 and increase by half grains. I'd like to see what this would do to a coyote. I want to treat them like the varmit they are. Any Ideas??????thanks

264winmagTry the Nosler 125 with H-4831.It shoots great in mine and stays together up to 3800fps.Groups are better around 3675 to 3700.I get 1 and1/4 inch groups with the 110 v-max but havent had the pleasure to put one in a coyote yet.Only tried 5 and had no chrony that day but should be at least 3900.

BigIronSpeer makes (or used to make) a .308 130 grain with a large hollow point. The bullet had a very good reputation for accuracy.
While the large HP probably adds enough drag to lessen its maximum reasonable range (versus a spitzer), at the velocities a .300 RUM churns up, impact on a coyote should be quite spectacular.
Cheers,
