uplandr.204 scope
I know that this should probably go into the optics column, but similar experience is what I'm looking for. Thinking about a Weaver 4-16 scope. What reticle is best, fine crosshairs, Dot or regular plex? Live in Pa., mostly target, fox, coyote. Thanks.

Allen GloreI put a Burris Signature Select with the Ballistic Plex Reticle on my Ruger #1 in 204. I have really come to like the Ballistic Plex Reticle for shooting at extended ranges(350 yards and beyond).

groundhog devastationI'm using a 6.5-20 Nikon with target turrets and have the click chart on the stock.....works pretty good! However, I would like to try one of the 6.5-20 Burris' with the Balistic Mil dot reticle on the 204! I like the other Burris' with the Balisticc Plex well enough to try some more! GHD

HornetfanIn Pa I think a V16 will do you right well. I am about to buy 3 of them for varmiters, for fox and pigs. Price is right. Bruno's SHooters supply has about the best price around. Look them up SWFA and a few other places have price matching with another 10 to 20 % off.

sscoyoteI'm also a big fan of the Ballistic reticles, especially Burris's, altho that plex reticle would be the simplest of them, if put to use for that purpose.

slygunnerI know it's probably overkill, but I use a Leupy VX III 4.5x14x50 Long Range with the varmint reticle. Its the first scope that I have paid over $300 for and I will never buy a cheap scope again.
I went through 3 Sightrons on my 204 Ruger

. The first wouldn't hold zero, the second one I blew the glass from the inside of the scope with 3 shots

, and the 3rd one wouldn't hold a zero. I went to where I bought it and asked for my money back, Sightron wouldn't give me my money back but the store allowed me to trade up to a luepy rifleman. IMHO the rifleman is just as good as the elite 3000 that I have. The Sightron was an SII 3x9x42, I liked the scope, it was real clear and the crosshairs were fine enough for shots out to 400yds on rock chucks.
Happy Hunting,
