gsp,
I have a cooper M4 with a simmons 44 mag. 6.5 X 20 that took Leopold "Extra High" rings to clear the barrel.
Good luck with your new Cooper, I hope it's the 2nd best shooting one they ever produced. [Big Grin]

I just put the same soope on my Cooper Montana Varminter and used super high Leupold rings. They clear the barrel by about 1/4 inch. Same thing on My Cooper .17 Mach IV. I am happy with that. I do not want much less clearance. I put the same scope on another gun and needed the super high even though the salesman thought a shorter one would be fine, per his book. That mistake cost me about two months use of the scope.

I ended up with the Talley rings 30mm high. Gives me about 3/16" clearance using the 50mm objective.

Gsp,

Regardless of what rings you buy, congratulations on your new Cooper. I can think of a lot of crimes, some felonies, I would commit for a Cooper. Those people really take care to put together one fine rifle. The accuracy is superb. Best wishes.
