Through the brush, off the rock, nothin' but CAT....!!!
A ferral putty-tat met his demise this morning while sunning himself on a rock. At almost 200yds he wasn't a particularly easy off hand shot. But sitting down with my back against a tree I had a fairly solid shooting position. I might have misfigured the range or tweaked the shot, but the result was that the 55gr PSP .223 impacted the rock exactly where fur met stone. The aftermath? The bullet richetted and fragmented upward and this critter flew about 6 feet in a wild helicopter spin. Impressive? Oh yea! Messy? You bet! Conclusion? This .223 (my first) is one bad mother!!!

....a fact that a couple crows (this afternoon) will likewise attest to!
Good shot, one less feral cat to kill & maim native wildlife.
I would have liked to have seen it
