I got to initiate my new AR this weekend. We were calling out in west Texas near Ozona. This grey fox got to be "#1 predator" for the new rifle. I was shooting 55 gr. Sierra SBT's with H-335.

It is close to 100% prime. The cold fronts finally started making it to us.

That old standby 55 gr. Sierra #1365 is my favorite!! As you know, I use it in my 22-250 as well.

Yep, sure looks like a nice pelt. I have to ask - did you shoot him in the hind left foot or is there a hole on the other side that we're missing?

He stepped in his own blood, hence the blood on the bottom of his foot. There is a hole on the other side however.

After looking at your post under "post your varmint pics" I came back here to take a closer look at your AR. Mighty fine and functional rifle. What does it weigh.
I had built an AR using a stag lower, rock river arms upper, 18" stainless bull barrell with 8 twist, houge grip and stock, national match trigger. If I remember correctly I was using 75gr hornady hollow points. It would put 10 inside an inch at 100 yds as fast as you could get back on target and pull the trigger. I built it as a coyote rifle. Figured I could make quick follow up shots if I missed on the first shot. Only negatives was weight and shooting off a bench due to the magazine. Shot a couple hogs and a doe with it before some low-life broke out the back window on my truck and helped himself to a five finger discount. Oh well, maybe I'll build another one day. Congratulations on yours. Hope you continue to enjoy it.
