BuglemintodayPost your Varmint Pics!
Let's see some pictures of some downed Varmints! I should be recieving my Foxpro this upcoming week so I need to get my blood pumping a lil more!
My friend dan shot into a group of 30 coyotes gathered and hit the left dog in the back and the 7mm ballistic tip entered the right dog in the dead center chest
We got this one with the truck

I shot this bad boy armadillo with my Benelli 12ga. 2 turkey loads and a slug and he was done

K20350The only armadillo I ever killed I used a 2005 Peterbilt 379 with a Walker tanker and about 50,000 lbs of milk in it. Hard to take pics at 70mph!!!!

12FVSS260Heres a pic a group of coyote hunters up north of me in Maine took of coyote kills. They call - shoot over bait - and run with dogs up here. We can shoot them day or night due to their effect on the deer herd in deep snow, crust, or spring fawning. Quite a few deer saved by whats on that pole!

BuglemintodayGWB - I bought a FX3! I can't wait to try it out. Hopefully it comes before Friday! I have a decoy, spotlight, and another scope coming this week too so I am praying this weekend I will have my stuff together to get some fur on the ground!
When you get serious about buying one email me at Archerlee@aol.com . I did some asking around for FX3's and found some good deals so I can get you in touch with the guys wanting to get rid of theirs.

GeedubyaBuglemintoday,
I had planned to purchase my call at allpredatorcalls.com. I've kinda gotten away from varmint hunting in the last few years but plan to start doing it again next year. Here is a picture of a grey fox I called in april. Used an inexpensive johnny stewart call and a quiver rabbit decoy. You can see the decoy with the fox in one picture and my cooper 22 hornet and the fox in the next. I have 17 ackley hornet, 17 mach iv, tactical 20 and other small calibers which I enjoy busting turtles, starlings, crows and squirrels with.

eskimo1Do you guys hunt at night? Here in Sweden we hunt red fox over bait or call at night, works great

Just got me a Illuminated Nikon that i will try out and see what it can do in the dark.

Bob in TXHere in Texas it is legal to call predators at night.........so we do!! I enjoy both day and nighttime calling. They are totally different and equally fun!
Good Hunting,
Bob

groundhog devastationDEAD VARMINTS!! I will try! I have a lot of them!

I will post some pics of varmints that have been "airmailed their invitations home", headed to meet Jesus and felled "DRT".....dead right there!! DRT has special meaning when the alfalfa is still clenced in the teeth! Also a pic or two of long range or conglomerate dead vermin!

This pic is of my friend Bobby Brown holding his trusty 223 wearing a 12X Leupold friction adjustment that HE DIALS WITH UNCANNY Results! My furtherest witnessed shot by him with that little light barreled gun is 605 yards!! I'll try to post more pics! I aimed to post multiples but that didn't work!!

Charlie,
What kinda scope ya got ridin' on top of that VLS.. Mine is in the market for a new one...
787 yards is pretty darn impressive.....
and your VLS stabilizes the 140 A Maxes with no problems???
what is your load, I'll have to try it out in mine.. mine seems to love 120 grainers...
cheers

groundhog devastationseafire, The scope on the VLS is a NIKON BUCKMASTER 6-18 with AO, not the side focus. It has proven VERY VERY repeatable over the 3 years I've used it so far! They come with both kinds of turrets, regular and target included and for the price, I think they are absolutely one of the best bargains in optics!
Now as to the load pushing the 140's it's:
45.0 grains of H4831sc
Federal 210 Match primer
C.O.L = 2.900
Never a problem stabilizing the bullet in this barrel. Charlie(GHD)

RuckJust like GHD, i can sure vouch for the 6x18 with the AO, not the side focus nikon. I have one on my 25-06 and it's DEADLY. It is extremely repeatable when coupled with rock solid bases/rings. Furthest to date with it was a crow at 707 yards. GHD can vouch for the rifle.

DECNice set up. Here's mine in the back of my old Ford Ranger.
I made the rifle rest and shooting bench. It's a Rem 700 with a Boyds stock and since then I've replaced the scope with a Leupold 6.5x-20x-50mm with side focus. To date my longest shot is 528yds.
I just picked up a new Rem 700 S.S. in .223 with the laminated thumbhole stock and the new XMark trigger. I'm waiting on rings to mount a S.S. Leupold 6.5x-20x-40 with side focus on it. I was in a bit of a hurry and wasn't paying attention, the guy sold me 1" rings and I need 30mm
