meteHevi Shot
Have you tried Hevi Shot on coyote ? They recommend # 2, is that enough for them ? I've used # 4 lead on a couple of dogs successfully but that was close range.

Tyler KempThey have a "Dead Coyote" load that is supposed to be deadly for a long ways, but it's very large shot.
Love shooting precision and long range. Big bores too!

Skinner. The 'Dead Coyote' loads are very effective but they're pricey and were really overkill for bobcats and gray fox. Particularly when you take em' for pelts.
The 2's and B sized Hevi-Shot works well on grays and cats but if you aren't required to use a non toxic projectile lead BB is just as effective.
In my handloads the nickel plated lead BB's are deadly. Works well on coyotes too.

dwheelsI priced a ten round box of Dead Coyote today. $30.00 for ten rounds was a little steep for me. I bought some #4 buck lead instead. DW

youngoutdoorsYou can sure tell the difference in Hevi-shot and steel shot on geese. My buddy had Hevi-shot and I didn't. He was flat stomping em and I felt like I had a slingshot. Try some on plywood compared to lead and I think you'll be believer for coyotes too. I think #2 Hevi would be great for yotes. Louis

erictThis will be my first year trying a shotgun for coyotes and fox. I've hunted plenty in open territory for coyotes with a rifle, but I now have some close range opportunities with a chance for coytes, fox and bobcat. I'm going to try #4 buckshot, but I have also heard nothing but good things to say about Dead Coyote and Remington Wingmaster HD Predator. The price shouldn't really matter much if you make every shot count. There is an extensive thread on this at
PredatormastersBy the way - Remington is offering a pretty good coupon on the HD ammo - see this link:
Remington coupon page.
Let us know how you make out - good luck.

HARDBALLERFederal #4 Copper plated in the Premium line patterns just as well as the Dead Coyote load in my gun...but cheaper. Another option is the Remington High Density loads in T or BB. Remington has a $15 rebate per box right now on the HD loads.

Tyler Kemp223's look so much more pleasant in the recoil department.

Love shooting precision and long range. Big bores too!
