hvyw8tI used a mouth howler. it took him about 5 minutes to show up. basically i used a real submissive greeting followed by a challenge howl. the second dog that came in later took less than a minute. we only made three stands that morning. the caliber was a 220 swift in a remington vs. i use 50 grain nosler bts, going well over 4000 fps. they hit dogs pretty damn hard.

CISCOI too did a little howling on Friday night, at the local bar.
Seriously though, last week I howled in my first one of the year. Just howls, no distress calls. I use an E.L.K. power howler, makes a real nice howl and a wide range of vocalizations.

<bearlake>I also use the E.L.K power howler. It took a little time to get the hang of it but i have had good luck. It makes the best bark and yelp that i have heard from a mouth caller. The one i got came with a pin on retractable reel type lanyard. cost was 14 or 16 dollars. E.L.K also makes a good retractable plastic reed mouth pice called the "yote buster"
