Gonzo FreakPowerCZ527 Varmint: Twist Rate question
The CZ web site doesn't seem to list twist rates for their rifles. I'm thinking about this 527 and would like to know what the twist is. Can anyone here shed some light?
Thanks

Dave JenkinsFreak,
ST just did a write up on this nice looking piece it is reported to have a 9 twist. That would be nice if the throat is also cut a little long.

BusterI read on another board where some of the early CZ 527 varmint synthetics were shipped with a 1 in 12; however, the guys that bought them and weren't happy were allowed to exchange for the 1 in 9 that is supposedly now standard.

rooksd1I have a 527 varmit with H&S stock. I contacted CZ and they told me it is 1/9. The other models are 1/12.

cowboy77845Can I safely use 5.56 mil-surp in my 527 Varmint? I have a bunch of it I would like to use up.

Prairie Dog DundeeI own both a Lux and the HS stocked Varminter in 223. Fur sure the Lux has a 1-12 and the Varminter has a 1-9. Good guns.

cowboy77845I read that ST article and ordered a Kevlar stocked rifle. Last week it came in with a broken stock. The dealer also had a laminated stocked one. Called CZ, they said both HB varmint rifles had 1-in-9 twist. Target with the laminated stocked one had almost a one hole group.
