I learned a very important lesson today
I learned that a 75 grain Hornady VMax at roughly 3700 fps out of my 25-06 might be just a tad much for fur hunting coyotes at approximately 30 steps [Smile]

It`s a great bullet! Just not the thing to use if you want the hides. Hit him in the ribs and dang near split him in two!

I found out that the 75's don't do too well around 4125fps outof my 25-06 AI. I e-mailed Hornady and the reply was that I should slow them down and that they haven't tested them over 3900fps. So I stick to 85gr. Ballistic Tips at 3900fps.and they have about the same effect.

Hello Hoss 75gr VMax not to good for saving the skins. Out here we call that red mist, some times you just have to let it rain.
