Savage 22-250
I am currently looking at purchasing the savage model 12BVSS 22-250. However, I have no preferrence to model. I want a good varmint hunting gun. This particular gun is the targer-style with a laminated stock with ambidextrous Wundahammer palm swell. Dual pillar bedding. AccuTrigger. Stainless, heavy fluted, free-floating & button-rifled 26" barrel.

Is this a good gun or should I look at another make or model?

I have no doubt that is a good gun. The savages have proven to be some really good shooters even with thier crapy trigger but now they have fixed that with the new one.

Have a completely stock, blued heavy barrel 22-250 Savage. Have sent scores of different load combos through it and all are 3/4" or better, some much better. Great gun even without the new trigger which is going on shortly. Only paid $325 for mine, new 5 years ago. Penny for penny the best gun purchase I've ever made.

Cobra is right. The Savage will shoot with the best of them. I own the 112bvss in 22.250. I did change the stock and trigger. Dam thing felt like a tree trunk.

You might like it. Mine only shoots 3/4 to 1 1/4 inch groups, but I'm working on some different loads to see if it will get better. Maybe more power in the scope will make the targets easier to see at 300 yards. [hee hee]
