Bob in TXThanksgiving Fox Hunt-Texas
One of my friends and his wife asked me to spend Thanksgiving with them in the Texas Hill Coutry. We got to sneak out for some night time calling. I took 3 nice grey's, all males, using the CompuCaller III. I also got a chance to take a whitetail doe for the freezer.

VanderhoefNice night, Bob!
The Compucaller seemed to work that night! Overall, have you been happy with it?

erictNice shootin' there. I only wish I could see three, let alone shoot three in the same day! Did you end up seeing any more? Sounds like the places you hunt down there are loaded with greys.
I lived in San Antonio for four years and got to hunt Camp Bullis quite a bit, so I know that hunting in Texas this time of year can be downright enjoyable weather.
How big was the doe?

Bob in TXScott,
I really like the CompuCaller III. A lot of the newer callers just have too many bells and whistles on them for me. The CCIII sounds great and is easy to use. The base has a rechargeable battery and the remote uses a 9v battery. You can call for a full day (and more) on a charge. The only thing I don't like is the inability to load your own sounds. Fortunately though, Burnham Brothers was one of the pioneers in the industry and has one of the best sound libraries of sounds to choose from!
Erict,
You are correct. A lot of the areas I hunt are in sheep and goat country. The ranchers pay a lot of money to keep coyotes out. We end up calling foxes and bobcats. I am going to get to call more coyote country this season though. I took the doe with my "go to" 7mm-08. She was nice and fat and will taste great!
