CZ 527 American .222
Hello from Scotland~

Ive been looking at the CZ in .222 Rem, ive heard lots of good things said about CZ rifles on this forum.

Just wondering what sort of groups a could expect to get from a CZ American in .222 Rem

Any good .222 loads ? I just cant bring myself to buy a ruddy .223 !

You can hardly go wrong with BLC-2, Reloader 7 and 4198. Try 50Gr Hornady SPSX with 20 Gr of Re7
WW brass and a Federal GM205M primer.

I happen to have one of their CZ527 American's in the lowly 223. It is topped with a Kalhes 3.5X10X50. With the 55gr Sierra soft point and 27gr of Varget, I can only cover a 10 shot group with a dime. But, I've heard that the 222 shoots real good.

I too am interested in the CZ rifles in general and have just test fired my new CZ M527 American in 222 Remington. I really like the set trigger; the fit is pretty good as well as function of the rifle. The short fall is the bolt through/angle requires a tall scope mount.

I fired two boxes of factory ammo, Remington 50 grain soft points at a target 100 yards distant from the hood of my pick-up w/ good results. I then tried a few different hand loads I had in inventory only to find that they would not chamber. It seems CZ produces rifles with chambers much tighter than I am use to. Also you will find the magazine will not receive anything longer than SAAMI specs.

I have a couple of CZ M452 chambered in 22 LR and they are fairly accurate...especially for the money spent. I rate CZ a step or two above Ruger M77/22 in the accuracy department. Chambers are tight, Winchester Power Points are tight and require an extra push to close the bolt.

I like 'em and I plan to obtain more, sort of a shooter's collection.
