Q.A. about the remington etronx
I just got a remington etronx 22-250 a few week's ago. Im going to put a Douglas air gauge 22-250AI barrel on it. I was woundering if anyone has done this? Has anyone up graded the barrel's or changed the .CAL of a etronx? If so, have u had any problems with it? thanks for the help.

Kris clubine: I have been after a deal on one of these E-tronix Remington Rifles for a long time now!
I want to "steal" one!
I mean get it for pennies on the dollar.
Every time I get a lead on one of these at a screamer price it disappears before I get to it.
The way ALL the new Remingtons I have bought over the last several years have shot - I would certainly shoot yours before you "improve" it.
I have been VERY happy with all the Remingtons I have bought in the last 9 years or so.
If you don't mind my asking where did you get the E-tronix and do they have any more?
Best of luck with your project.

varmintguy: I got mine from a local dealer in north missouri. He had 6 of them but i bought the last one.I payed 630.00 after tax and got a case of shell's with it. I want to shoot 70gr VLD through it(1-9 twist) but my etronx barrel is 1-14 twist. I have a remington 700 ADL that i do my main hunting with.I was thinking of puting the etronx barrel on the ADL and buy a new stock.

Wasn't the Etronx the Rem. with the electronic trigger?

Buck3: Yes, it uses a 9 volt batterie. Post to get around 1500 shots per batterie The remington 700 etronx came out in 3 cal. 22-250 220 swift and the 243 win.

Kris cubine: Great deal there for you on the E-Tronix!
I might suggest you buying up some primers for the electric Rifle and tuck them away!
Yeah I would have jumped on that deal like a Fox on a mouse!
Good for you!

I just got an etronx in 243 I also bought 1800 primers from a friend. I don't have the time to take it out and shoot much at the range. So I am selling it. If any one is interested in it email me. dukeb@airquick.net

I'm just starting to play with mine... My friend and I bought 2 of them in .243. With Tax, Shipping and FFL, they were $1,100 for the pair. Just another reason to buy dies and e-primers.

The trigger is the most amazing thing I've experienced since I started shooting. Increase the pressure and "BANG!"

Now, off to make e-boolets.

doesn't sounds like that great a deal to me, unless of course there will be some collector value in the future, also is it possible to convert these rifles to a coventional setup

in times when one needs a rifle, he tends to need it very badly.....PHC

An accurate, good looking, unique gun for $550, (Originally $1,999.00) I'll buy it every time. As for collectors value. I'd say never. Remington claims they'll make the primers forever and if I buy a case ($0.10 per primer) I'll be set and so will my great grandkids' children. Did I mention the trigger. I might rush out and get the whole set.

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

AI22-250
I bought my Etronx several years ago now, got it NIB for $525. I had it rechambered to 22-250AI. Without much trouble I can push a little 40grain well over 4000fps. Since it's only a 1:14 twist (original barrel rechambered) I can't stabilize anything over 60grs and I have to push them to get good groups.
The changeover to a bolt action rifle is a little more involved, you need to make sure you get the correct bolt for it. I bought 3000 primers when I purchased the ETRONX, just to make sure I had a supply around. The trigger takes some getting used to, it is just an ajdustable mirco-switch. You won't feel and "click" when the trigger is pulled, just a very smooth short pull, set very light.

People thought I was a little weird several years ago, for buying one when then were discontinued by Remington. Even more so for rechambering, but I've taken a number of coyotes, PD's, rabbits, etc. I put a Bushnell 4200 in 8x32, however I found that there wasn't enough verticle adjustment. I took it off and put a 3200 5x15-50mm on it. Been very happy with the whole rig. Wouldn't trade for the world.

When these first came out I didn't figure they would last very long.

Are they still making ammunition for these rifles?

From what I can tell, "NO"
They are making primers and the people at corporate are saying they'll make the primers forever. (grain of salt). I'm buying a case for the same price as the rifle Roll Eyes but I am drawn towards the unusual AND the fact I got the rifle at 25% of the original cost.
