Y'all asked me to let you know when we were going to draw for another custom rifle. Well, here we go.......

We are going to be drawing for a Burns Custom Predator Calling Rifle. This rifle is being made by premier Texas gunsmith Tip Burns from Canyon Lake, Texas. He made the $15,000 custom dangerous game rifle last year for the Houston Safari Club.

After much discussion and planning, this rifle will be chambered in 22-250. It will be built on a Remington 700 BDL action. The barrel will be a 22" #5 contour 1:12 twist Shilen, custom fit to the action. The stock is an HS Precision LTR stock and will be fully bedded. The action will be trued and the lugs lapped. The trigger will be tuned to a crisp 3 lbs. The metal will be finished with the QPQ finish which is impervious to pretty much everything.

This drawing will help raise funds for Hunt of a Lifetime which grants hunts to kids with life threatening diseases. Words can't describe the feeling you get seeing one of these kids having their dream come true.

"Hunt Of A Lifetime is a nonprofit organization with a mission to grant hunting & fishing adventures and dreams for children age 21 and under, who have been diagnosed with life threatening illnesses. We are doing what we can to make a difference in their life, a dream come true."

The tickets are $20 each. Only 150 tickets will be sold. We will draw for the winner as soon as the last ticket is sold. You may purchase as many tickets as you want. Non-Posse members may also purchase tickets. Your donations for the tickets will go to help a critically ill kid have their dream hunt become a reality. Make your check or money order payable to:

I used to be a member at Cedar Ridge until I moved down to Devine. I go to A Place to Shoot most of the time now. We have a member of the Posse that shoots with a regular group at Cedar Ridge most Sundays.

Is this drawing posted on any other varmint forum? Seems like sales are a little slow so maybe it's not getting enough exposure.

I think that if the number of tickets was posted periodically, it might help sales. Each time it was updated, the posting would go to the top of the forum and stay near there for a few days. Might attract some more ticket buyers.

a 20" barrel for a 22-250???? seems awful short for that caliber to me.

This is a custom carry rifle for calling predators. It will perform very well with the heavier, shorter barrel and balance perfectly to get on your shot quickly.

...sorry. We are not set-up for anything like that. Our board is not a commericial site. The money from these fundraisers and our caps, etc. goes to various youth hunting programs and to support the board. I am happy to take a personal check or money order.

I received 2 Predator Extreme magazines today and one of them showed a new Ruger rifle with a heavy 22 inch barrel that is designed as a carry rifle. Looked pretty good to me and this one should be similar.

I goofed on my description of that rifle. It is really a Savage and looks good.

There are tickets left, and yes, we have all 3 colors of caps available. As you indicated, $5 from each cap goes to support Operation Orphans/Camp Gene Ashby which provides hunts for orphans from all over the state.
