What is the best for $300 or less?

a good used foxpro, no moving parts and the old remote had a good range of 75 yards! lifetime guarentte and they can reprogram sounds for 20 bucks, rthey have over 150 sounds last i checked

For less than that you can build one using a Rio 600 MP3 player and a Nady 151 wireless remote system.

And there's tons of sounds available for download.
