TCLouisNot sure about the time frame, or pelt condition, but what I think I see is a good wage for a winter time hobby/sport/JOB.

RustyDLooks like a HE has put his time in and paid his dues. Thats a lot of work skinning all those coyotes. As for the slaughter part, I bet the coyotes just keep fillin' right back in. In this day and age the amount of coyotes being taken is miniscule due to all the laws and regs. Someone has to keep them in check.

flatlanderThe guys name is Marty S out of Alberta. He is a fur trapper and that is not even his best season. He traps and snares 600 to nearly 1000 coyotes a winter out of the same areas. That is what he feeds his family with. If you want to talk about “shameful slaughter†take a look at all the guys that kill coyotes and leave them lay. Wanton waste is what is shameful.

sscoyoteMan that's gotta be some work, putting up all that fur. Impressive

dogcatcher223Ray Milligan had a barn covered in pelts like that way back when. He was a bigtime trapper here in the west, he might still sell lures. I know he switched to outfitting once the fur prices went south. I actually think he had more pelts than that in his photo.
