... on horseback, with hounds. Our English friends choose their words a bit differently, "shooting" nomally means hunting with a shotgun, "hunting" designates hunting on horseback, "stalking" is with a rifle.

Sad, though, that a traditional way of hunting is under such political pressure. Parforce is a very original way to hunt, handed right down to us from the middle ages. Hunting on horseback with hounds is also practiced in other countries (France springs to mind), yet not nearly as controversial as in the UK. This in spite of the quarry often being stags and boar, as opposed to the English foxes.
