It did one run at 137 mph, but was unable to make a second run within an hour apparently. Redline was 1800 rpm and max torque was 2,000 ft/lbs (!)
290 HP.

137 MPH on those tires had to be a spooky ride. I'd not turn down the chance to drive it but I wouldn't bring anyone with me at that speed.

Back in the early 80's I drove this one:


To be honest, I didn't "drive" it as much as "steer" it while several other people pushed it across an exhibition hall floor and up into the back of a car transporter.

It has been my experience that pretty much every car of that era I have driven steers like an old tractor with a wide front end. Pretty much all of them have way too much caster by even 1960's standards, hard to turn then let go of the wheel and it spins by itself back to straight ahead in a fraction of a second.

It really amazes me how far vehicle suspensions have progressed even since the 70's.
