TCLouisLest I be mistaken the 28 litre engine is in 4 cylinders too.
Here's a pic of the engine:
Here's a pic of it with an exhaust, kinda cool!
It is a beast. Mind boggling. Those boys in the machine shop knew what they were doing.

timber apeWow!! What would it do wide open!!???
It did one run at 137 mph, but was unable to make a second run within an hour apparently. Redline was 1800 rpm and max torque was 2,000 ft/lbs (!)
290 HP.

Snellstrom137 MPH on those tires had to be a spooky ride. I'd not turn down the chance to drive it but I wouldn't bring anyone with me at that speed.
Ask Marchionne to give us real FIATs !!
Beast of Turin -- WOW !!

Back in the early 80's I drove this one:
To be honest, I didn't "drive" it as much as "steer" it while several other people pushed it across an exhibition hall floor and up into the back of a car transporter.
It has been my experience that pretty much every car of that era I have driven steers like an old tractor with a wide front end. Pretty much all of them have way too much caster by even 1960's standards, hard to turn then let go of the wheel and it spins by itself back to straight ahead in a fraction of a second.
It really amazes me how far vehicle suspensions have progressed even since the 70's.
