Quickest means of travel from USA to Far East?
During the period 1925-1928, what were the quickest commercial means of passenger travel from USA west coast to Tientsin-Peking or anywhere in Japan? For these means of travel, what were approximate travel times?

I'd like to say flying boat, but I am not sure they had 'em big enough to make the trip back then. When did the Boeing 314 hit the water? Answer: 1938. Out of service in 1946...
