butchlocanybody else but me
Does anybody recognize themselves here, besides me and the auther?
What happened to me?..
I used to think I was just a regular guy, but I was born white, which
now, whether I like it or not, makes me a racist.
I am a fiscal and moral conservative, which by today's standards,
makes me a fascist.
I am heterosexual, which according to gay folks, now makes me a homophobe.
I am mostly non-union, which makes me a traitor to the working class
and an ally of big business.
I am a Christian, which now labels me as an infidel.
I believe in the 2nd Amendment, which now makes me a member of the
vast gun lobby.
I am older than 70 and retired, which makes me useless.
I think and I reason, therefore I doubt much that the main stream
media tells me, which must make me a reactionary.
I am proud of my heritage and our inclusive American culture, which
makes me a xenophobe.
I value my safety and that of my family and I appreciate the police
and the legal system, which makes me a right-wing extremist.
I believe in hard work, fair play, and fair compensation according to
each individual's merits, which today makes me an anti-socialist.
I (and most of the folks I know), acquired a fair education without
student loan debts (its called working while you learn) and little or
no debt at graduation, which makes me some kind of an odd
underachiever.
I believe in the defense and protection of the homeland for and by all
citizens and I honor those who served in the Armed Forces, which now
makes me a right wing militant.
Please help me come to terms with the new me… because I'm just not
sure who the hell I am anymore! I would like to thank all my friends
for sticking with me through these seemingly abrupt, new found changes
in my life and my thinking! I just can't imagine or understand what's
happened to me so quickly!
Funny …it’s all just taken place over the last 7 or 8 years!
As if all this nonsense wasn’t enough to deal with… I’m not sure which
restroom to go into..............?

NormanConquestTrue, the problem is that all of my contemporaries have either retired or are dead.We have to count on how we raised our children.

A7DaveThat pretty much sums it up, which makes me ecstatic that Hillary lost, if not that Trump won.
One correction I'd make to "I am older than 70 and retired, which makes me useless" is "I'm older than 50, and a white male, which makes me useless".
My job is safe, but good friends have been "furloughed" from companies they've made great, in favor of lesser paid millennials or H1B Visas. Tough to get a comparable job at that age.

Opus1Isn't it amazing how the majority has suddenly become the minority in public opinion and the 3%ers have suddenly become the majority.
The false narrative that is pushed upon us today simply does not pass the laugh test. Case is point is Obama beating his chest that he could have beaten Trump, but the fact is since Obama took office almost 8 years ago, the DNC has lost 1,030 seats in State Legislatures, Governorships, and Congress.
Reality simply no longer exists in this country - embrace the false narrative.

CrazyhorseconsultingI view it this way, others milage will vary.
I really do not care how people that do not know me, never have met me, or never will, choose to classify me. I live life on my terms, and last time I reviewed them I saw no where in the Ten Commandments, that "Everyone Shalt Agree With Everyone Else, All The Time"!
We have quite a few folks on this site of a certain political persuasion that have their knickers in a twist, because their hoped for Queen of the May, did not win the brass ring.
I take solace in the concept that at my age, hopefully I will no longer be around when those that find us deplorable finish dragging America down the sewer.

NormanConquestMores the pity. I am concerned for my grandchildren than I am for myself.

Lost OkiJust my opinion...
1. media tells us what they want us to believe (most of us are aware of this)
2. everyone....and I mean everyone is a racist. Example put to me by a black american....if you don't like Obama makes you a racist...what am I if I did not like Bush ? neither of us cared about skin color...its about policies and person.
3. At 68 yr old vet, I am looking for another job...lots of qualifications and experience...but no takers...regardless of what the media says, I am not useless.
4 By believing in our (U.S.) constitution I meet the only qualification I feel is necessary - a Patriot. Now, the same black american listed above said the same thing...although we are not alike...we think the same...time for the patriots to stand up for ourselves and our country.
