Rarely do we have anything pure these days but here is a 100% pure BS story. Another of those " attacking bear" stories .A 'professional runner " running 20 mph beating a 45 mph bear ! wave

And for my next impression,Jesse Owens. Seriously I have a friend that is an anthropologist that has worked digs in the northern territories (read grizzly). They were informed by the powers that be that in the case of an attack just roll up into a fetal position ball. The grizzly will bat you about for a bit but then leave you alone. What a crock of shit. And of course they were not allowed to go armed.Idiots in charge of protocol. In the early 80's I had the chance to bow hunt for alligators in Aransas Wildlife Refuge as a recent flood had crested the levees + put them where they were not wanted. Tx. P+W let it be known that we could NOT kill any crotalus horridus, western diamond back rattler as they were endangered.I thought to myself, hell yes if I see him he damn sure is endangered.I follow the game laws but sometimes they can come up with some stupid ideas.

Not bears or even related.

Back about 1990 I was selling prairie dog heads and bodies for $2 each for heads and $10 bodies. Paid to rebarrel my rifle with one check.

Had an old freezer in the shop before the door was on the building. Wife was p'd about it and unplugged it when I was gone for a week elk hunting and temps were still warm here.

I refroze them as when i called, they said: "just freeze 'em again, our bugs don't care if they stink".

So, ok I froze 'em and took 'em to UPS. Lil gal there just insisted she had to see what was in the box. I told her several times: "Dead prairie dogs and heads that spoiled and stinks rotten, it'll make you sick!". The regular gal grinned at me and walked off.

Chic opened the box after I made her slide the trash bucket over close. Sure as hell, she needed it too!

The next several shipments she wouldn't get close to opening them. "I'll take your word from now on, you can ship a bomb if you want and i won't look in the box!". "smart girl, shoulda listened to me the first time".
