BaxterBLast elk season I hunted near Mt St Helens...there were 4 of us in the canyon, the other two guys stayed north of us. This is a 3-miles walk-in only area so not much traffic. One day my buddy and I heard two howls from the south; not bugles, coyote yaps or roars, howls. They were about a minute apart and we both looked at each other at the first one and scratched our heads, on the second one we knew it wasn;t an elk; the weather was super hot and this was about 1pm. Weird. That night, the other 2 hunters still north of us, I heard two different sessions of tree knocking(or whatever) to our south. Very, very odd.
I have hunted that area since about 2002 and it was simply the oddest thing I have experienced there.
NOt sure what I believe. I tend to lean on the side of there being some sort of evidence given the length of time they have been reported, hell, the coelacanth was thought completely extinct until some guy hooked one, one would think on land something solid would show up...who knows....not me...

It wouldn't work. They would eat the ball and spirit the opposing teams coach to a high mountain meadow.

fla3006My father saw a black puma near Brookshire, TX and a friend saw one while on a deer stand near Leaky, TX. Neither drank alcohol, smoked pot or were prone to exaggeration. No monkeys though.
