In terms of strictly military disasters rather than national catastrophes, which was worse - Elphinstone's retreat from Kabul in 1841 or Percival's surrender of Singapore in 1942?

WWII is a great example of that.

A lot of truth in it.

Go read up on how the Brits were in a frenzy over whether to withdraw during Operation Crusader.

Rommel won that battle twice before losing it.

Lt. Gen., Cunningham had to be replaced.

It is actually a positive; especially when compared to other nations in WWII.
