Without reading it, I think there is no danger with static electricity and black powder.

Grizzly AdamsGuess I'd put it up there with cell phones igniting gas at the pumps.

Not even sure about friction; I know that a lighter flint will not ignite it. I made a roller igniter for a flintlock; doesn't work. The sparks are not hot enough to ignite 4fg.

Jerry LilesGraphite coated grains are resistant to ignition by sparks.. Powder dust present at the bottom of some cans would likely be another matter as even suspended flour dust at a flour mill can be ignited with a spark and produce an impressive explosion. A small cloud of powder dust, not intact grains, is the hazard.

Bill/OregonWayne, thanks for this. It makes it seem rather silly that Lyman offers its powder measure with a non-plastic reservoir for use with black powder. Shouldn't we be more concerned with a powder measure shearing kernels of black, or is that a myth as well? Your experience hammering black powder to dust seems on point here.
There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.

Grind a little bit in a mortar and pestle, guaranteed fireworks.
